Marketing is Not Advertising

Marketing is Not Advertising

An article inspired by Seth Godin book “This Is Marketing.”

Marketing was advertising 10 years ago.
The fastest way to generate sales was through advertising.

We were living in an era of cheap and efficient broadcast media.

We could sell an average product with advertising.
That’s no longer the case.

Marketing is now the experience.
The interaction with the customer service rep at the store
The environment at the store.
The package and delivery of the product.
The upload time of your mobile site.
The follow-up communication…
Everything communicates

Advertising still remains part of marketing and won’t go away.

But Advertising is no longer the main engine of growth.

The marketing budget has shifted from advertising to experience, which is powered by human and artificial intelligence.

We are investing more in tech and people now.
Marketing is becoming everything
